Finding free stock photos is quite easy when you know where to look. Using some of the premium stock photo sites can get a little expensive. But there are many free resources out there that allow you to download stock photos with CC0 license.

This means that basically, you are free to download and use these stock photos as you wish.

Stock photos Stock photos are essential when you’re building a website. Of course it’s quite possible to build a website not using any photos or images, but it’s going to be a pretty uninteresting looking site, even if the content is top-notch. Adding images to any website creates an interest factor, attracts the eye and will surely make your visitors more likely to read on and see a little more.

There are a huge number of stock photo sites available out there, and they all have some really fantastic looking images ready for you to insert into your site. But buying these images can get quite expensive especially from some of the more well-known sites like Shutterstock.

Most of these sites will let you download images for free just to see how they will look in your website or advertisement, or whatever you happen to be choosing them for. But these images will usually have a watermark across them so you will not want to use them on your final project. Obviously this is fine if you’re building for a customer and just want to show them what these images will look like. In that scenario, of course, you pass the cost of the images on to your customer.

Stock photos Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a place you could just download and use any pictures that you wanted to? It’s no good just going on to Google and Googling an image, and then just downloading it and using it on your site. If you use just any image, the copyright owner of that image can send you a cease and desist notice, or even sue you for using their product. This is fair enough, after all it’s their image not yours. So you want to save yourself a lot of time and trouble by making sure you always have the correct permission to use an image on your site, or advert, as the consequences further on down the road could be awful.

There are also many sites on the internet that provide free stock photos. Many of these photos and images are of the highest quality. I use them all the time in my website builds, and it can save a tremendous amount of money. In the video above I am going to show you some of my favorite stock photo sites. You can browse and download these images for free, and there is almost an endless supply. It is always essential to check any license on any photos that you are downloading and make sure that it is CC0 which is Creative Commons zero. This means that the owner of the image has waived their rights, and you are free to use this image anyway that you wish. So even on these free sites, just double-check to make sure you have the right permissions to use an image. There is an absolute gold mine of pictures out there, so watch the video and I hope you find it useful.
