Here is a short video to show you an easy way of stopping the Windows 10 popup. I am using Windows 7 on my computer, but this should work on 8 and 8.1 also, just navigate to your desktop or hit the Windows key plus ‘D’, that should take you there.
Once on your desktop right click just to the right of your clock, just to the left of the show desktop block. Click on ‘properties’ just below ’lock the taskbar’. This will bring up the “Turn system Icons on or off window’. From here click on ‘customize notification icons’, this will open another window, scroll down until you see ‘GWX’, this is the Windows 10 popup that we want to disable. Click on the small down arrow on the box to the right of it and select “Hide icon and notifications”. Select OK on the bottom of both open windows. You should notice that the Windows 10 popup icon is now gone. Job done! This should stop the Windows 10 popup from popping up again. (at least until Microsoft release a new update to reactivate it!).
Like I mentioned earlier, I think Windows 10 is a very good operation system, many of my customers use it. If you would like to try it, you can upgrade and try it out. As long as you use it for less than a month it is really easy to roll back to your previous operating system. See this article for more info. Windows actually keeps all your files in a folder on your computer for a month, so it’s literally just a couple of clicks to restore to your old operating system.
